Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own artistic and economic destiny this blog must show. Last February I quit my graphic design job to pursue a dream. I wanted to work in my own studio and create work that is from the heart — work that is as true as I can make it. The harmonic convergence of encouraging family and friends, increased jewelry-making skills and the chance to have affordable health insurance was all it took for me to take the leap.
Could there be a better time to be an artist? I am awestruck by the fantastic technology that has allowed me to study this ancient craft and apply it to space-age materials. I hammer and file and solder, channeling my Etruscan ancestors, in the same studio where I created this website with all its bells and whistles. It's just so damned cool!
So thank you to all who encouraged me on this path. Thank you for your generosity in sharing your wisdom and warmth. I am so excited and happy to begin this adventure.
